The Books That Arrived Through the Flame

This year, two books came through the flame in very different ways. The Flame Remembered became a sacred reflection on what comes before the flame, what carries us through it, and what remains after we have been changed by it.

Truth & Fire: The Transmission Compendium arrived differently. It became a gathering place for the haunted and the hungry: a collection of strange history, spirit, folklore, mystery, and meaning. It holds the questions I keep returning to in my work: What survives? What speaks through the old stories? What does the strange reveal when we stop dismissing it too quickly?

Together, these books feel like two sides of the same lantern.

One turns inward, toward memory, soul, grief, fire, and becoming. The other turns outward, toward the haunted world around us... the battlefield, the old house, the object that should not speak, the history that refuses to stay buried.

But both are asking the same deeper question:

What is the flame trying to show us?

For me, writing has never felt like simply arranging words on a page. It feels more like listening. Sometimes the message arrives quietly. Sometimes it arrives with teeth. Sometimes it arrives through an old story, a strange headline, a dream, a haunting, or a memory that refuses to leave the room.

That is the thread running through my books and through To The Spirit itself. I am not interested in stripping the mystery out of the world. I am interested in walking beside it long enough to see what pattern begins to emerge.

The Flame Remembered and Truth & Fire are now part of the Sacred Library, and in many ways, they mark the season I am in as a writer. A season of remembering. A season of gathering. A season of listening more closely to what returns.

The old stories are not finished with us.

The flame is still speaking.

And the signal still returns.
